'The diet following cesarian section is usually low carbohydrates, high protein diet because the lady who has undergone cesarian needs to lactate the child and take a high protein diet and during that process she should not put on more weight which is not required at that time because in the pregnancy itself she would have gained weight. During a lactation, she can target and lose the weight and at the same time she should not avoid the diet which is required for a nursing mother to give the breast milk to the child. So at that time the diet should be frequent meals, small quantity meals which rich in calcium, multivitamins, minerals and high proteins, high fiber diet and she can as well avoid or reduce her carbohydrates or fats. During this process she may reduce her body weight and at the same time give good quality breast milk to her child. The diet should contain minimum quantities of proteins, calcium should be atleast upto1200 milligrams per day and it should contain Vitamin B12, Vitaimin D, other minerals, and along with that folic acid supplementation will be there most of the time. Following the first 3 months following a cesarian, we recommend to take a minimum dose of Calcium with vitamin D3. That is 1200 milligram of calcium along with 600 International Units of vitamin D3, is required and 200 to 300 milligrams of protein is supplemented during first 3 months so that she will have a sufficient quantity of the supplementation so that the baby will not suffer due to that.'
