The freshly cooked chicken tenders are then tossed in Cajun seasoning for a one-of-a-kind, spicy treat. “No other major hamburger [quic serve] makes Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders, so ours have remained a very popular menu item since they were first introduced nearly seven years ago at Hardee’s,” says Brad Haley, chief marketing officer for Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s. “In fact, not many sit-down restaurants make them either because it requires a lot more effort to dip marinated chicken in buttermilk, bread them in seasoned flour, and fry them to a crisp, golden brown, all by hand. But, as craveable as our original Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders are, the one request we kept getting from our guests was to offer them in other flavors, so we went for the heat. The Cajun seasoning on our new Hand-Breaded Spicy Chicken Tenders have a real kick, so you may need to buy a bigger drink than usual when you order them.” Hand-Breaded Spicy Chicken Tenders are available as a 3-piece entrée for $3.69 and as a 5-piece entrée for $5.39, either of which can be ordered as a combo meal with fries and a drink starting at $5.69; prices may vary by location. Online: QSRMagazine Witness: Man lunged at troopers with knife before shooting By BLAKE STOWERS Bluefield Daily Telegraph Feb 22, 2017 PRINCETON — A witness to an officer-involved shooting in Princeton Wednesday afternoon described a knife-wielding man who lunged at West Virginia State Police troopers and refused to drop his weapon. The shooting occurred at the Hardee’s Parking lot on Meadow Field Lane. Jessie Dotson, a cook at the restaurant, said the man was shot after a confrontation with two State Police troopers. “I just saw two officers in a stand-down with a guy wielding a knife, and he kept lunging toward the officers,” Dotson said. “They kept telling him to drop the knife. He wasn’t having it. He lunged at the officer for the last time. He didn’t stop. The officer had no choice but to shoot him. He really didn’t. Both state troopers had their guns drawn on him trying to get him to surrender and give up.” Dotson said both officers were in full uniform, and both had their guns on the suspect. Another witness said he saw a man around 20-25 years old walking back and forth in the parking lot with a large kitchen knife. Troopers with the West Virginia State Police and deputies with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department remain on the scene. Although police on scene would not comment Wednesday evening, a body could be seen under a towel in the parking lot of Hardee\'s before it was removed. Online: Bdonline'
