'Easy Baby Led Weaning Meal Planner for Babies & Toddlers | Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Menu'

'In this episode of Abbey’s Kitchen, Abbey has partnered with Baby Gourmet (who have sponsored this video), to share her easy template for building balanced meals for baby. Abbey is a big fan of Baby Gourmet because their products have no fillers, added sugars or salts, or artificial preservatives of any kind and they’re perfect for self-feeders like Baby E.  Abbey likes to think of the day as a whole and ensure that baby’s meals are nutritionally balanced overall. When building meals, Abbey does her best to include four or five different foods for each breakfast, lunch and dinner.   Typically, for each meal Abbey recommends:  • Vegetables or fruit • Whole grains or starchy foods • Protein • And Iron   Breakfast   For breakfast, Abbey likes to slice up avocado into strips so it’s easy for baby to grab and if it’s really ripe, she rolls it in some infant cereal for grip and added iron. Abbey is also serving a full fat Greek yogurt with a little swirl of fruit puree for some added sweetness and an additional veggies. Abbey loves toast and is doing a whole grain toast spread with a thin layer of natural peanut butter, that she’s cut into strips. Eggs are a morning staple, so she’s just made a simple omelet that she’s cut into strips for easy grabbing.  Lunch   For lunch Abbey has got one of her son’s favourites - steamed broccoli with a bit of the stalk still attached, making it easier for him to pick up and self-feed. Abbey has done the same thing with her baked sweet potato and added a little cinnamon just for flavour instead of salt. Next, Abbey is serving up a handful of Baby Gourmet Organic “Carrot Sticks” Finger Foods, made with Lentil and Chickpeas! Baby E loves these both as a part of meals, and for on-the-go snacks, and Abbey loves them too, because they’re packed with plant-based protein, iron, and tummy friendly probiotics with no added sugar or salt. They’re also a perfect finger shape so they’re great for self-feeders. Finally, Abbey has got some baked salmon seasoned with a little dried thyme and olive oil that she made sure was free of bones before serving to babe.   Dinner  For dinner, Abbey has got some green beans that she’s trimmed and steamed until very tender. Abbey usually adds a little lemon and avoids any salt for baby. Abbey’s family was having an Italian themed supper so she made baby some mini beef meatballs with eggs, iron-fortified infant cereal, dried oregano, medium ground beef and no added salt. To go with is, she’s serving some fortified whole grain fusilli pasta with a little homemade tomato sauce on top. To finish off the night, Abbey is doing one of his favourites – fresh watermelon slices. Abbey usually cuts these into longer finger-like shapes, though you can serve it with the rind if your baby is having a hard time with their grip.
