'#flourhalwa #kada #حلاوة_الطحين #mortokha #mirtokha #cffrecipes #iraqifood #assyrianfood #chaldeanfood We make this kind of sweet during fasting days for breakfast but of course you can make it any time. It tastes delicious especially if you make it with butter or ghee(clarified butter). This is the way my mom makes it. Every time she makes it, she has to send me some:). She knows it is my favorite. I had to learn how she makes it. I made it per her instructions and it turned out very yummy but honestly hers is better :) . There is something about her hand when it touches food. Her cooking taste very delicious:). Even if she boils water, it would taste delicious. You know, mom\'s food is the best. I love you mom so much and God Bless you to us ♥ https://www.facebook.com/pages/COOKING-FOR-FUN/140828562610663?ref=tn_tnmn Ingredients:- 1/2 cup white flour or wheat flour 1/4 cup oil or butter or oil + butter 2-4 Tbsp. sugar or less depending how sweet you want your Halwa 1/2 cup of dark black tea Pinch of salt Cardamom (optional) Walnuts or any nuts for garnishing (optional) Steps:- -Prepare the tea as usual and then add sugar and stir until all sugar is dissolved. -Heat oil or butter in a pan on low flame then add flour and pinch of salt then mix constantly until you reach light brown color or a color of your desire and the flour starts to release oil. -Add the tea little by little. Be careful at this stage as the steam may burn your hand. Mix for a few minutes until it becomes one piece and the oil oozes from the sides. you can add cardamom at this stage or you can sprinkle it on top at the end . Turn the heat off and the Mortokha(Halwa) is ready. -Garnish with walnuts and enjoy it while it is warm. Enjoy:)'
