'Andy Bates is known for his hearty, traditional British street food. Starting work in kitchens at 14 (before getting the chance at 17 to work in a Michelin-starred restaurant), Andy went on to study at a catering college in Canterbury. He then headed to France to hone his skills in French cuisine. Now, his company, Eat My Pies, produces classic Scotch eggs, pies and tarts which are sold on his stand at White Cross street market. Andy Bates, the street food chef and star of TV channel Food Network UK, will release his first cook book this month featuring an array of melt-in-your-mouth dishes. Cheeky and charming Londoner Andy is known for putting his own twist on British classics from Scotch eggs to pies and tarts. He has been selling his delicacies from his London street food stall as well as running his company Eat My Pies. Andy\'s first show, Andy Bates Street Feasts, first launched on Food Network in UK in 2011. He travelled the country, visiting the UK\'s most vibrant food destinations, exploring the world of street food to find the stories behind the recipes and the people. Andy launched his second series on 8th October. From East to West Coast, Andy is hunting down and enjoying the finest in American street food, revealing some of the culinary secrets behind the world\'s most diverse grab-and-go dishes, whilst getting to know some larger than life American street foodies! Andy returns home to the UK armed with fresh ideas hoping to get the seal of approval from the ever-hungry appetites of his customers at White Cross market. Andy\'s book features over 100 recipes, from his award-winning pies and pastries to simple suppers and puddings. Dishes include \'Andy\'s Jambalaya\', \'Ceviche Tacos\' and \'Chicken and Ham Hock Pie,\' incorporating international foods and flavours that have inspired him.
