'This 1979 hit from whom would become one of the most influential bands of the next two decades is a cover of the Al Green classic. Lifted from their 2nd LP \'More songs about buildings and food\', \'Take me to the river\' was a Top 30 hit in America, and a minor one in Australia, where it reached #58 after its February release.   Although the song has been covered so many times, there is something infinitely cool about the Talking Heads version, and like with so many hits of the time, I did not really appreciate it until many years later - like taste buds maturing and adapting!
