'A Better Food Trader is a food business trading for social purpose, not to maximise profit.” And in a context where 95% of food retail is sold through 9 supermarket chains, creating and sustaining better food enterprises rooted in social purpose - and ecological values - is vital. So Better Food Traders have built a network which supports and amplifies the voices of food enterprises who share these values and have a mission to create better food systems locally. Their accreditation system enables those seeking to address the climate crisis through changing their food choices to buy food that is good for the planet and people. To find out more, watch this recent session where we were joined by Natasha Soares from Better Food Traders, who introduces the network and shares how you might benefit from getting involved. Find out more here: https://betterfoodtraders.org/ And as well as this, we were also joined by two guests from the Open Food Network community who are already part of the Better Food Traders network; Alastair Cameron from Helston Local Food Hub (https://www.helstonlocalfoodhub.co.uk/) and Duncan Catchpole from Cambridge Organic (https://cambridgeorganic.co.uk/). You can get a copy of Duncan\'s book mentioned in the session here: https://localfoodecosystem.co.uk/ For events like this and more, please join our Thriving Food Hubs Facebook group: https://facebook.com/groups/thrivingfoodhubs'
