This is the monster burger challenge that gives you just 20 minutes to try and defeat the massive 36 OZ. burger. Measuring in at a foot tall and containing over 7,000 calories, the feast comes loaded with six burgers, six slices of bacon, six onion rings, cheese and salad, this is not one for the faint-hearted. But in order to completely clear the plate and earn a place on the Wall of Fame challengers also have to polish off 6 OZ. of meat in a chilli con carne and a portion of Cajun spiced chips. The owners of the Duck Inn at Oakenshaw, Ashley and Louise Gargan came up with the idea to develop the Man Vs Duck Burger challenge because their customers wanted to see bigger steaks and burgers on their menu. Since the challenge was launched last month, 12 people have tried to tackle the burger but no one has managed to clear off their plate and claim their winning t- shirt. Each burger tower takes chefs Jurgen Koller and Scott Eames 45 minutes to cook but they say the most difficult part comes when they have to build the monster tower. The couple are donating 10% of all sales made from the 42 OZ. meat stack to Macmillan Cancer Support. Ashely said: \"We know it\'s a big ask so people are more than welcome to take the burger home or share it because we don\'t like to see food going to waste. \"Lots of our regular customers kept asking us to put bigger burgers on our menu so we thought they can\'t really ask for anything bigger than this. \"I think what makes this so hard to complete is because it\'s made from fresh local produce so is high quality food. \"I\'ve tried having a go at eating it but couldn\'t manage it at all but maybe the fact that I had breakfast that day didn\'t help.\" Lewis Theodorou, 20, was confident that he could be the first person to defeat the challenge but was beaten by the burger after just 15 minutes. The Landrover production worker prepared himself by choosing not to eat for 24 hours before he took on the challenge but he thinks this was the wrong tactic and could be to blame for why he couldn\'t clear the plate. Lewis said: \"This was the first time that I\'ve ever completed a food challenge and it was a lot harder than I expected it to ever be. \"The meat was gorgeous but it\'s just the sheer volume of it that makes it so hard. \"Normally I can eat a fair bit of food if I put my mind to it and I was pretty sure that I could give this a good go as well but it was just too massive. \"It just didn\'t seem to be getting any smaller no matter how much I was eating it just didn\'t seem to make a difference.\" Welcome to Storytrender - the home of extraordinary video.
